• Hedy received the 1999 Tiger Woods Foundation Sharing and Caring Award in recognition of outstanding achievement in making a difference in the lives of youth.
• Hedy received the Minnesota League of Human Rights Award in 1992 and was a member of the Bloomington Human Rights Commission for several years.
• Hedy has been featured at local, state and national conferences and has been a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator over the last ten years in the areas of diversity issues, racism, empowerment, and youth development.

Hedy's expertise comes from extensive "hands-on, dig in and do" time in the trenches.

Prior to establishing her own consulting organization, Hedy spent over fifteen years working in Community Education Departments for both suburban and urban public schools, including Minneapolis School District, Minnesota's largest. She administered and supervised Youth Development, Adult Enrichment, and Youth Enrichment programs.

Incorporating her MBA from the University of Minnesota, Hedy worked several years in corporate America. Then she decided to change careers to focus on education and youth.

After receiving her Specialist Degree in Education Administration from Minnesota State University and a Minnesota license as a Community Education Director, Hedy specialized in the areas of:

As fate would have it, Hedy began to receive invitations to speak about Youth Development, diversity and multicultural topics because she wears on her sleeve her love and compassion for youth, especially youth of color. She became an advocate for youth of color and their parents in a large suburban school district where she was employed.

Hedy has great passion for working with young people. Her enthusiasm is for:

	empowering youth to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others; and
	helping adults understand that empowering young people does not mean giving up power.
